Holiday wishes from the editorial staff

December 6, 2017 by Andersonian Staff

In the last several weeks, the only things that have gotten me through are cheesy Christmas movies, staring at pictures of my dog and hot cocoa. Without these things, this semester would have done me in. Truly, I have never been so thankful to see a semester come to a close. The grown-up world is tiresome, and college is no exception. I am grateful for this place and for the people who make AU everything that it is. I am thankful that Christmas vacation is upon us, and I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday! Merry Christmas!

– Nikki Edrington, Editor in Chief

I encourage you to take heart in the fact that all your hard work throughout the semester is about to pay off and you will have a long, well-deserved break! Savor this last week of the semester with your friends, and choose to have a positive attitude about the work you are completing and the effort you are putting in. This isn’t forever, and pretty soon you will be able to kick back and relax with your friends and family! Merry Christmas, and enjoy celebrating New Year’s Eve as we look forward to a new year that will bring unimaginable joy and even more life. Celebrate the gift we’ve been given through Jesus Christ and the new life we have.

– Faith Middleton, Associate Editor

While in the midst of what seems like a million papers, late nights in the library and weekends of procrastination with friends, I’ve almost forgotten that next week will mark the end of my final “first semester” at AU. Sometimes, the thought grips me with panic; I’m not ready to leave just yet! However, I’ve decided not to worry about what’s to come. Christmas break is the perfect opportunity to  appreciate the blessings God has placed before us in the present moment. This senior is going to spend her break in relaxation and appreciation of family, friends and the chance to rest. Merry Christmas, everyone!

-Noel Marquis, Assistant Editor

After this semester, I only have one thing to say: wow, I need a drink…of hot cocoa. Enjoy some time away with family and friends, but don’t stay away from this amazing place for too long. May all your Christmas wishes come true. God bless you all, and God bless AU.

-Alec Brown, Sports Editor

So often we dwell on the hard classes, the extremely late nights and the horrifically busy schedules without recognizing the positives that come from hard work. As this semester comes to a close, the hardest one yet for many, don’t forget to rest in thankfulness for all that you’ve accomplished and the future that you are paving the path for now. Thank God for your blessings and be content in his love. Merry Christmas!
