Swindell to retire from teaching

Retirement is a word that could mean different things to different people, and those ideas can change over time. As Dr. Linda Swindell, chair of the psychology department, retires this May after 18 years of service at AU, she intends to approach retirement with a Christian interpretation instead of a cultural one. “It is dismal to think of it as the end,” said Swindell. “It is a closing on part of my life, but it is not the end. Claiborne to speak at chapel

Each spring since 1981, AU welcomes well-known speakers for Impact Your World Week (IYWW) chapel sessions. The guest speakers share their experiences and shed light on the outward and global implication of the Christian faith at the IYWW series. Capital campaign earns $113 million

The AU Dreams. Discovery. Direction. campaign, made public in 2006, has garnered $113 million worth of gifts, achieving more than the projected goal of $110 million to support capital projects ($51 million), endowment and gifts for operational support, annual student aids and payroll. Do not let the long lines at Hartung foodcart intimidate you. During one recent lunch, it only took six minutes to get through a 15-person line. Quick, convenient and efficient are the best words to describe the Hartung foodcart, the latest addition to the dining options in AU. To Jennifer Rosengarten, art has always been a form of questioning and figuring out subjects.
