AU senior social work majors have planned a conference about social media, the Internet and the impact of both on social service agencies. The conference is called Check Your Tech! The Social Worker’s Guide to Social Media and the Internet. Daffodil Days, Relay fight against cancer

A total of 122 bouquets of daffodils and 18 gifts of hope were hand-delivered to students on campus last week by the team of students from Relay for Life and their faculty sponsor Dr. Virginia Chapman. The gifts and donations from parents, faculty and staff to students were in appreciation for the contributions of donors on the annual Daffodil Days. Students Spring into Dance

AU’s annual event, Spring Into Dance, was held last Friday and Saturday on March 23 and 24. The concert featured works focused around the idea of “Exploration.” The pieces explored ideas including shadow and light, fantasy, family relationships, theatrical characterization from the 1930s and the relation of classical music and formal dance structures to contemporary movement. Debaters place first in two tournaments

AU’s varsity debate team has found their stride. Team members Kelly Frye and Nathanael Robertson placed first at a semester-end tournament held at AU and also placed first in a tournament held at the University of Dayton this semester, winning after five hard-fought rounds. Zach Dunsmore and Dr. Dan Ippolito are teaching a self-defense class for anyone on campus who is interested. Dunsmore, a biology student, found out that his biology professor, Ippolito, knew karate.
