Each year, on the third Monday of January, the United States recognizes the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The city of Anderson also holds events in honor of King’s life and work. Jackrabbit Coffee officially open for business
Ben Orcutt, a 2011 AU graduate and the owner of Buckskin Bikes, and Josh Stafford, also an AU alum, have opened a local coffee shop: Jackrabbit Coffee. After weeks with only a tentative plan to open around Christmas, the store was finally declared open for business on Dec. 28. University announces plans to sell radio station
After 27 years on the air with Anderson University, 98.7 The Song, formerly WQME, is for sale. Four full-time employees will be affected by the sale, and the university is currently in discussion with potential buyers. Dr. Robert Nicholson, president emeritus, passes away
Dr. Robert A. Nicholson, president emeritus of Anderson University, has passed away. He was 94. Nicholson served as president of the university from 1983-1990. Prior to his role as president, Nicholson attended Anderson College in the early 1940s and returned to the institution in 1945 to serve as a music instructor. Raven guard Trevor Lucas named to preseason All-American Team
After spending his freshman year at Huntington University, high-flying guard Trevor Lucas transferred to AU and has captivated Raven fans with his athleticism and skill set ever since. Lucas was named first-team All-HCAC and third-team All-Great Lakes Region for his efforts in the 2016-2017 season. He scored 21.1 points per game, hauled in six rebounds per and added three assists a game. Lucas, now a senior, is set for possibly his greatest season in a Raven uniform yet. In a semester-long project by the students of a creative writing poetry class, aspiring authors are creating a magazine of their own poetry. The magazine, which will be released digitally in December, is an assignment from Professor Deborah Miller-Fox, assistant professor of English. The magazine is the first one of its kind.
