The Raven basketball teams split a doubleheader against Earlham on Saturday.
The women dropped their tenth straight contest, losing 61-58. Kaycee Strunk poured in a career high 29 points on 8-16 shooting from the field and 10-12 shooting from the free throw line. Jireh Hart added a double-double with 15 points and 17 rebounds.
Their efforts were not quite enough, as the shorthanded Ravens were unable to overcome their lack of bodies. Saturday’s game saw six Ravens in uniform.
The men picked up the victory in the second game of the afternoon, defeating the Quakers 80-70.
Cole Hartman and Trevor Lucas combined for 55 points on 18-24 shooting, leading the way offensively for the Ravens. Hartman also snared in 11 rebounds.
“Earlham is never an easy game,” explained Wes Davidson. “They slow the game down, but we did a good job of not falling into their style of play and keeping our pace on the offensive end.”
