The Andersonian, the student-operated news organization of Anderson University, was founded in 1947. It published a print edition until 2021, when it transitioned to providing entirely online content.
As a matter of institutional policy, the editors and staff of the Andersonian are responsible for the news organization’s reporting, and neither the adviser nor the University administration reviews content prior to publication. While the administration recognizes the role of the student press on a college campus and in journalism education, the views expressed in the Andersonian are not necessarily those of Anderson University.
The Andersonian has two primary purposes:
1) To offer Anderson University students—particularly those in journalism and communication—a learning laboratory in which they can develop their reporting, writing, editing, design, photography, technical and management skills
2) To provide comprehensive, fair and accurate news coverage of University-related issues and events as a service to the broader Anderson University community
