The 2016-2017 men’s basketball team enjoyed a succesful regular season, winning a school record 14 HCAC contests. After bowing out early in the conference tournament, the team is hungry to come back stronger than ever.
Their season will begin Nov. 13 with a stern test. The Ravens will travel to Indianpolis for a game against a NCAA Division 1 opponent IUPUI.
The Jaguars are coming off of a 14-18 season. While only an exhibition for AU, this game will count towards IUPUI’s regular season record.
This will be the first time AU has taken on a Division 1 foe since playing Western Illinois in the 2014 -15 season.
“It’s a great opportunity for our team,” explained senior captain Cory Kreiger. “We’ll be able to gain experience playing against a Division 1 program.
We’ll also be able to show what we can do and bring to the court each and every day.”
For a team looking to build off of one of the better seasons in school history, very few experiences could be more valuable than traveling to take on a Division 1 opponent.
Anderson will begin regular season play Nov. 17. They will welcome Adrian College to O.C. Lewis Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
