College Mentors for Kids partners with local schools

Every Wednesday afternoon, you’ll see a group of college students walking with a group of elementary students through the Valley. While the energy of children is not something you hear and see every day on a college campus, College Mentors for Kids brings that to campus every week. “Girls Night Live” tour comes to Reardon Auditorium

Contemporary Christian artist Blanca has been pursuing a music career since 2006. Starting out in a group called Group 1 Crew, she’s now a solo artist. She released her debut solo album in 2015, and her newest album just last year. She knows God has called her to this career, and she hopes to include vulnerability in her music to inspire others. Chorale and Women’s chorus honor alumni with song

Every two years during Homecoming weekend, Chorale and Women’s Chorus hold a concert in Park Place to showcase several pieces and to honor an Outstanding Music Alumnus.  The choirs are honoring Douglas Beam as the Outstanding Music Alumnus this year, who composed three pieces for the choirs. Women’s Chorus is also honoring alumna Ann Smith with a song titled, “Letter from Ann.” Ann Smith came to AU as a freshman 71 years ago, and has been part of the campus community for many years. … [Read more...]

HLSA celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month on campus

National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 everywhere, including right here on campus. The Hispanic Latino Student Association (HLSA) has already kicked off activities for the month. AU’s Hope Lynn kicks off music career at Hoosier Dome

On Sunday night, September 22, the Hoosier Dome was filled for a performance from bands Commonweather, Flight Club, Thin Lines and AU’s very own Hope Lynn. Lynn is a junior music business major who has recently been working hard on her music career. Students spread light to community through campus ministries

AU’s campus ministries program allows students to branch out beyond campus and reach the Anderson community through different ministries. The ministries involve working with at-risk youth and ministry through the arts and prayer. Senior Christian ministries major Mackenzie Fair is one of the co-leaders for campus ministries. School of Music, Theatre and Dance hosts summer camps

The sound of music rang through the rooms of the Krannet Fine Arts building as the School of Music, Theater and Dance celebrated many successful camps this summer. Students of all ages had the opportunity to participate in events such as the Orff Schulwerk Certification training, piano composition camp and Orangehaus music business camp. New chapel theme encourages community

Dates and location set for fall spiritual retreat

The fall spiritual retreat for next semester will be held at Epworth Forest, a conference center in northern Indiana, on October 5 and 6. Gaithers contribute to School of Theology lounge

A group of undergraduate Christian ministry students, seminary students and faculty are working to renovate the lounge in the School of Theology and Christian Ministry.
