“Raven Watch” named finalist in national contest

Anderson University’s original sports show “Raven Watch” has been named a finalist in the Sports Video Group national sports-media contest. The Andersonian product will be contending for recognition in the Outstanding Program Series, student-produced media division. Ravens battling for top conference spot

After another HCAC doubleheader sweep, the Ravens have sole possession of second place in the conference, with a 9-1 record through 10 games. Anderson pounded Transylvania, scoring 29 runs in the two games. John Becker picked up the win in the 13-3 game one drubbing. Softball struggling but showing progress

The softball team just finished a hard weekend, losing a pair of double-headers to Transylvania and Thomas Moore. The Ravens entered the weekend with a .350 batting average and had scored with relative ease throughout the season.  The bats cooled across the weekend tilt. Ravens unbeaten through six HCAC contests

Just six games into HCAC play, the baseball team is only two wins away from matching last season’s conference win total. Lucas continues basketball career post-AU

All-Academic Ravens

Anderson’s student-athletes did a fantastic job of backing up the student aspect of their titles in the winter sports season. Tom Bohlsen Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic honors are awarded to winter varsity athletes who earn a cumulative 3.5 GPA. 22 Ravens received the honors. Only Rose-Hulman had more HCAC student-athletes earn the honors. Softball team shows youth against Thunder

After splitting 10 games over their spring break Florida trip, the softball team faced a tough task in their home opener. Trine, ranked seventh nationally in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll, travelled to Anderson for a Saturday doubleheader. The young Raven team showed promise in the first game, racking up 18 hits, including eight for extra-bases. DJ Martz, Samantha Ausmus and Lexi Gray recorded three hits a piece. Ravens set to begin HCAC play on high note

Ravens well represented on All-HCAC teams

The winter athletics season has come to a close, and Raven athletes racked up plenty of recognition for their performances throughout the season. 23 Ravens were named to various All-HCAC teams. Both the men’s and women’s track and field teams racked up the honorees. Courtney King and Mariah Murray were named Second Team All-HCAC for the Indoor Track and Field Season. Ravens baseball enter win column for first time

After an 0-3 start to the season, the Ravens got off the snide, picking up two victories this weekend at the Derby City Classic in Louisville, Ky.
