New RDs introduced for fall semester

September 13, 2020 by Claire Mountcastle

Three new Resident Directors have been added in Myers, Morrison and Dunn.

Amanda Bradley

Myers Hall will now be run by Amanda Bradley, from Warsaw Indiana.

Bradley graduated AU in 2018 with a major in Christian ministries and is now pursuing her Master’s of Theological Studies.

In the future, she would love to continue working in student life or pursue youth ministry.

“I love the intentional time with students in this job,” Bradley said. “ Relationships are my absolute favorite thing, and so I am so happy that a good chunk of my job focuses on that.”

After waiting for a position in youth ministries for two years, Bradley says that she felt a pull to return to AU and decided to give being an RD a shot.

Outside of school, Bradley enjoys going on TikTok and hanging out with her friends.

“Honestly, I just like to have a good time,” She said.

Austin Prior

Austin Prior is the new Dunn Hall RD.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Prior graduated AU in 2015 where he studied youth ministry and family studies and graduated Purdue in 2018 with a  Master of Science in Education.

With a passion for helping people and educating, Prior wants to apply the science of human behavior to living situations as he is now doing. “In many ways, I’m doing it within the RD job,” he stated.

“I like getting to know new people and living and working in my home,” Prior said. “When I was a student at AU, I lived in Dunn Hall for all four years of college and it changed my life. There is nothing in the world quite like living in a residence hall with a group of people and getting to experience life with others.”

Prior’s goal in this position is to aid his students in experiencing the community he felt during his time as a student.

“My favorite part of my job is getting to shape the community in the hall that benefits every student.”

Besides school, Prior loves frisbee golf and playing with his dogs.

Natalia Harris

Natalia Harris graduated from Grove City College with a degree in English/Secondary education in 2012. In 2014, Harris received her Masters of Arts at Geneva College.

“Whatever I do, I hope it involves wisdom formation,” Harris said. “I also care about students as they pursue their fields of study and vocations to the glory of God.

Harris grew up in several towns across Pennsylvania before moving to Fort Wayne Indiana just several years ago. Her husband, Ross, is an AU alum himself and the pair are happy to be in Anderson.

“This job combines a lot of what I love—administration, management, creativity, teamwork, teaching, learning and asking life’s big questions,” Harris said. “Plus, I get to work from home and be with my husband and children.”

Harris became inspired to work in student life after meeting her husband who was an RD at Grove City College. She says that it is a great job for her because she is able to work from home while taking care of her students.

“I got to see how unique the RD role really is,” she said.

Harris enjoys spending time with her family, reading books and cooking.
