The Anderson University Baseball team hosted non-conference foe Knox College in a three-game series this past Saturday and Sunday at Don Brandon Field. The Ravens went 3-0 on the weekend, outscoring the Prairie Fire 4-3, 10-0, and 1-0.

In game one, Knox jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning. The Ravens had big fifth and sixth innings featuring three runs from Trey Dorton and Dylan Hogan. Knox tied up the game 3-3 in the top of the ninth, but the Ravens sealed the game in the bottom of the 12th with a game-winning run from Garrett Craig. Rhet Heckman starred on the mound, striking out four batters while only letting up two walks and one run. C.J. Williams closed out the game, pitching two hitless and scoreless innings.

The Ravens put on a clinic in the second game, shutting out Knox, 10-0. Daniel Barreca, Trey Dorton, and Will Loftus all scored in the first, giving the team some serious momentum. The third inning featured two home runs from Griffin Wolf and Dylan Hogan to give the Ravens a 5-0 lead. Anderson picked up another five runs over the remaining innings from Russell Weaver, Trey Dorton, Zayden Stiller, Griffin Wolf, and Will Loftus to seal the shutout win. Braden Richey pitched six of the eight innings, striking out eight batters and only giving up four hits. Carter Knoblauch and Eli Ketterer each chipped in another scoreless inning to close out the shutout.

Anderson completed the sweep on Sunday in a nail-biting victory. The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning, when Garrett Craig scored the only run of the game off a right field single from Russell Weaver. Rex Richter and Evan Rinehart combined for just five hits from the mound, while Richter struck out six batters.

The Ravens moved to 4-4-1 on the season and will play next on Friday, March 7, traveling to Florida to face Waynesburg University.
