Intramural program headed for “next level”

While attending AU, all students are afforded the opportunity to be an athlete. Though not all Ravens have the chance to suit up for a school affiliated team, Anderson’s renowned Intramural (IM) program allows students to continue their athletic pursuits during their college career.  Faculty and staff can also participate in IMs. Throughout the school year, the IM program offers 16 sports over the course of four seasons for participation. Broadcasting veteran Dave Shore returns to AU

A member of Anderson University’s 1988 graduating class, Dave Shore, has seen and done it all in the communications world.  Shore has served as lead reporter for the Dallas Cowboys, television play-by-play analyst for Texas Tech basketball, a position Bob Knight requested Shore to fill, Operations Manager for ESPN LA 1070, Program Director for Detroit Sports 105.1, as well as many other positions along the way.  He is currently working as a freelance NFL/college football network sideline … [Read more...]

Women’s soccer team continues winning streak

After a 7-0 victory over St. Mary of the Woods, the women’s soccer team improved their winning streak to five.  The Ravens dominated from the start, opening the scoring in the fifth minute and staying aggressive for the duration of the match. Beverly Tanner recorded a hat trick, while Halley Embree, Maddie Martin, Courtney Maher and Haleigh Ciampa all added one goal each.  Tanner’s three goals increased her total to five on the season, one goal more than Emily Buchman for most on the team. Cross country teams post strong performance

The men’s and women’s cross country teams posted strong showings at the Run With the Lions event in Shelbyville, Indiana. Both teams won the event, a serious improvement over their respective ninth and 10th place finishes in their previous event, the IWU Twilight Classic. Jona Odell led the men to victory, completing his 6k in 20:49, good for a second overall finish. Caleb Bruner and Ian Leatherman also recorded top-10 finishes, placing seventh and ninth. Men’s soccer bid for upset falls just short

Consensus Top-15 Division III soccer team Ohio Northern likely entered Saturday’s game against Anderson expecting a relatively easy victory. After all, the young Ravens team is coming off of a three-win season. New school receiving record set in loss

In a 49-25 loss to previously winless Hanover College, not all was bleak inside Macholz Stadium. Freshman Wide Receiver Jarret Dickey put on quite a show, breaking the AU record for most receiving yards in a single game. Dickey hauled in seven passes for 291 yards and two touchdowns, averaging a staggering 41.6 yards per reception. Dickey’s first touchdown covered 88-yards and his second went for 86-yards. Volleyball set to begin conference play

The Ravens volleyball team were looking to gain momentum heading into the conference season as they traveled to Jacksonville, Illinois to participate in the Illinois College Invitational. On Friday night, the Ravens split their matches, losing three sets to one against Augustana, before rebounding to defeat Monmouth three sets to zero. Ravens show potential, drop home opener 56-14

Debuting new gray jerseys in the football home opener, the Ravens had a packed Macholz Stadium buzzing about the potential for a victory over the visiting Centre College Colonels.  Although the young squad showed flashes of brilliance, their youth proved to be too much to overcome, as the more experienced Centre left Macholz Stadium with a 56-14 victory, dropping Anderson’s record to 0-2 on the season. Men’s soccer win Raven/Spartan Classic

On a humid, overcast Parents Day, Anderson defeated Blackburn 2-1 in an overtime thriller to win the Raven/Spartan Classic. Anderson advanced to the championship game of the Classic after defeating Moody Bible Institute 3-0 in semifinal play. Softball off to a good start in HCAC play

The five-time reigning conference champion Ravens’ softball team kicked off Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend, taking on Mount St. Joseph in a Saturday double-header. Anderson won both games to start their conference season with a 2-0 record.
