“Hits4Hope” challenge begins for AU’s baseball team

AU’s baseball team is gearing up for another season, but their focus this offseason has been on something larger. The team has been partnered with Secret Families of Madison County, a nonprofit providing Christmas presents for less fortunate families around the county, for several years now. Men’s basketball seeks consistency as the tournament approaches

The men’s basketball team finds itself in fifth place in the HCAC following a huge upset win over conference leading Hanover. With just four games left, the Ravens will need to put together a few tough wins in order to secure a spot in the postseason tournament.  Over the next ten days, the men will face off against four other teams also looking to solidify their position in the tournament. Track and field set to begin a grueling five-month stretch

The indoor track and field season will soon resume as the runners continue to prepare for the long season ahead. The Ravens competed in the UIndy Season Opener back in December, but have had more than a month off between events. They will compete in the indoor season and have a short break before kicking off their outdoor campaign. AU’s winter teams kept rolling over Christmas break

While the students were away, the Ravens came to play. Over the holiday break, several AU sports teams continued to perform well, while others experienced a much needed turn around.  The women’s basketball team continued their comeback season posting a 3-3 record over break that was highlighted by a three game winning streak to start out the new year. Getting to know interim swim coach Megan Wills

Following former swim coach Conner Snare’s announcement that he was taking an assistant coaching job at Michigan State, AU quickly turned to assistant coach Megan Wills to take over both the men’s and women’s teams as the interim head coach. It’s time to believe in the women’s basketball team

After an 0-25 record last season and only six returning players, it is hard to find people that will believe in your program. But due to outstanding play by some key freshmen early on, the Ravens find themselves boasting a 4-3 record. Fall season athletes recognized on All-Conference teams

Many Ravens were recognized by the HCAC following the fall season of sports.  AU was well represented amongst first team and second team selections, as well as honorable mentions and sportsmanship teams.  Men’s soccer senior captain Jacob Pokorski was named to the All-HCAC first team.  Pokorski led AU with eight goals and seven assists. Men’s basketball team looks to build on culture of excellence

Last season, the Ravens endured an up-and-down year before heating up at the end, making a run to the HCAC semi-finals. This season, coach Owen Handy and his team look to build upon that run and take things even further. Handy is entering his seventh season as the head men’s basketball coach at AU. Former student sues AU for failure to comply with Title IX

A former AU student has filed a lawsuit against the school for failure to comply with Title IX regulations following the student’s claims of battery and sexual abuse.  President John Pistole said of the case: “We take all allegations very seriously. Breaking: Snare resigns as swim coach

Conner Snare has announced his resignation from the position of head men’s and women’s swimming coach. Snare has accepted the position of assistant coach of swimming and diving at Michigan State University and will be leaving AU on Saturday, Nov. 10.
