Anderson wins conference home opener over MSJ

After dropping a one game stand Wednesday at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Anderson looked to get back on track with a series victory in their conference home opener against Mount St. Joseph. The Lions, hoping to spoil AU’s home opener, entered the weekend series fourth in the HCAC standings. Baseball drops first conference series

Coming off of a four-game winning streak, the Ravens looked to start conference play with a bang, visiting Bluffton for a three-game series.  “Typically our goal is to sweep home series and take two out of three on the road,” explained shortstop Nick Butcher. Spring golf season underway

The men’s golf team hit the fairway Saturday to begin their Spring season, competing in the Mount St. Joseph Invitational.  The Ravens placed 13th out of the 14 competing teams.  Zach Whitaker, a sophomore on the team, found some silver linings in the performance. “Considering the poor conditions this weekend,” he said, “we played some good golf at times.  As a whole, we didn’t play very well, but I definitely think we are looking good for the rest of the season.” AU posted a team score of … [Read more...]

Softball team endures tough week with four losses

After winning five of their eight contests at THE Spring Games in Clermont, Florida, the Ravens endured a tough week, finding themselves on the losing side of the box score all four times out. AU dropped their first two home games of the season, losing both games of a Thursday doubleheader to the Ohio Northern Polar Bears. Cooley HCAC Field Athlete of the Year

After another strong season, Garrett Cooley successfully defended his crown as HCAC Field Athlete of the Year.  Cooley entered the 2017 track season as the reigning Athlete of the year with his sights set on defending his crown and qualifying for Nationals. “It feels great to repeat,” Cooley said.  “It was my main goal before the season, in addition to qualifying for Nationals.” Cooley’s performances were stellar throughout the season.  Twice, he set the school record in the 60 Meter Dash, … [Read more...]

Baseball picks up first win; looks to build

After dropping their first three contests of the season, the Raven baseball team notched their first win of 2017 under their belt.  AU defeated the Heidelberg Student Princes 12-11 in an instant classic, back-and-forth affair. Ravens stunned in HCAC tournament

After piling up a school record 14 HCAC wins during the regular season, hopes were high that the men’s basketball team would bring a conference tournament championship trophy with them on the return trip from Hanover.  In a stunning turn of events, the Ravens’ season came to an early end, losing to sixth-seeded Manchester 78-77 in the conference tournament opening round.  The Ravens twice defeated Manchester during the regular season, defeating Manchester 99-87 on Jan. 18 and 79-76 on Feb. 8.  … [Read more...]

AU track and field team races into HCAC championship

Both the men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the Depauw Invitational on Saturday, looking to bolster their chances of a strong showing in this weekend’s HCAC Indoor Championships. The men had a more than decent showing, placing fourth out of twelve teams after earning 72 points. Triumphant senior day for Raven captains

The men’s basketball team welcomed the Bluffton Beavers to O.C. Lewis Gymnasium Saturday for Senior Day, the last home game of the season.  With hopes for a regular season HCAC championship still alive, the Ravens looked to send two Raven seniors off victorious, for the final time. UPDATE: AU no longer to host Colts camp

The Indianapolis Colts have officially announced that they will no longer be partnered with Anderson University for training camp. AU had hosted the Colts for the last seven season.
