Effective Feb. 26, Dean of Students Chris Luekenga will be stepping down, according to an email sent to the student body by Provost Dr. Marie Morris.
“Dean Luekenga has served AU during a challenging economic and pandemic environment with compassion, spiritual strength and a heart for AU’s mission,” Morris stated in her email. “His attention to policy and compliance have been invaluable. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Dean Luekenga and for his dedicated service.”
Luekenga started at AU in the summer of 2019 after previous provost Chris Confer stepped down.
Morris explained that she has worked with Associate Provost Dr. Joel Shrock and student life directors to develop a plan for covering the necessary responsibilities while the position is vacant. She also stressed that the open position will be posted immediately and that nominations for an interim dean will be accepted by emailing provost@anderson.edu.
