Disco Dancing and Donuts, the first major event at AU by the Campus Activities Board (CAB), took place last Friday, August 29, from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. It is an event where students can let loose after the first week of classes and celebrate with their friends. Like its name suggests, the event included the dance floor, donuts, milk, and even a photo booth to remember these moments. Everyone came in their best ‘70s and ‘80s party outfits ready to party, with a special disco outfit worn by Brian “B” Martin, the Dean of Center for Spiritual And Intercultural Life. Students danced on the dance floor, while a disco ball shined above them throughout the night.
“I love that there is no limit on how many donuts you can have,” said Loralee De Young, a senior majoring in English education who had previously attended three other Disco Dancing and Donuts events in her time at AU. “Disco Dancing is special because it is the first big community activity at AU. It is a good way to meet new people and catch up with old friends in a relaxed way.”
