The AU Women’s golf team recently won in the two day HCAC Conference Preview at Anderson Country Club. In the tournament the Ravens placed first by shooting a total team score of 704, an impressive 17 strokes over second place Bluffton with a 721. They also beat third place Hanover with a 747 and Earlham with a 780.

Leading the Ravens in scoring was junior Hannah Emenhiser with a score of 169 through 72 holes, shooting 23 strokes over par. Emenhiser placed fourth in the individual scoring and was 8 strokes behind the leader. Other Ravens following her were sophomore Addy Gick with a 172 in seventh, sophomore Abbie Burden in 12th with a 179, and junior Lehna Wagner in 15th with a 184.

“We are really grateful that all the hard work we put in during the season paid off.” Gick said. The Ravens had 3 tournaments prior to this final one in October. This was their only win, other notable finishes include their second place finish in the Randy Sadler Invitational at the Players Club at Woodland Trails in late September.

The Anderson Country Club is the host for the HCAC Conference Championship in the spring of 2026. Emenhiser added, “This win will help us in the spring because it showed us what we need to work on and what holes we need to prepare for mentally as well.” Last year, the Ravens placed seventh in the conference championship and are looking to improve this spring.

Emenhiser and Gick both are looking to improve in their offseasons as well. Emenhiser said, “I had a great season but I also lost some distance on my shots” while Gick focused on putting, and “practicing a lot of different drills to become better at it.” They both also mentioned how important it is to work on their short game, with irons and wedges.

It was a huge win for the Ravens to cap off the fall season, now for them, the focus shifts to a successful spring season.
