The Ravens men’s Basketball team (1-4) was defeated 76-75 against the North Park University Vikings (3-1) Saturday night at O.C Lewis Gym.

The Ravens led 32-23 after the first half. However, North Park came out for the second half hot, erasing the Ravens nine-point lead before the halfway point of the second half. The closing of the game included a back and forth battle between both teams. The game ended with a free throw made by North Park’s Kolden Vanlandingham to give the Vikings a 76-75 lead with 11 seconds remaining. The Ravens’ Elijah Mattingly missed a mid-range shot at the buzzer.

Leading the Ravens in scoring was senior Kenney Troutman with 18 points, Troutman came off the bench giving the Ravens energy on the court. Mattingly recorded his second straight double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Other double-figure scorers included Nolan Swan (14), Rob Davidson (11), and Bryce Williams (10). The Ravens as a team shot  29-68 (42.6%) from the field and a struggling 8-30 (26.7%) from three. The Ravens recorded 12 steals and 5 blocks as well.

For the Vikings, junior center Julian Campbell had 18 points. The 6-foot-8 280 pounder used his size all night to punish the Ravens under the basket. Guard Mike Vuckovic had an explosive second half with 18 points and 4 three pointers as well. The Vikings shot 29-69 (42.0%) from the field and 10-27 (37.0%) from three.

The Ravens look to flip the script Wednesday at home against Trine (4-1). In the last matchup against Trine, AU lost 89-84.
