New ‘situation room’ to simulate crisis situations

Students will gain real-world security experience through mock scenarios While students are away from campus on Christmas break, a “Situation Room” will be installed in the History and Political Science Department. University announces plans to sell radio station

After 27 years on the air with Anderson University, 98.7 The Song, formerly WQME, is for sale. Four full-time employees will be affected by the sale, and the university is currently in discussion with potential buyers. The decision came as part of a long line of program changes in accordance with the university’s new strategic plan. Dr. Robert Nicholson, president emeritus, passes away

Dr. Robert A. Nicholson, president emeritus of Anderson University, has passed away. He was 94. Nicholson served as president of the university from 1983-1990. Prior to his role as president, Nicholson attended Anderson College in the early 1940s and returned to the institution in 1945 to serve as a music instructor. Dr. Glenn Falls passes away

Dr. Robert Glenn Falls, who taught accounting at AU until 1987, passed away on Friday evening, Nov. 10. He was 95. He  passed away at Community  Hospital after a short illness. Anderson’s Falls School of Business was named after Glenn in 2001 in honor of his financial donations, as well as his time as a dedicated professor to the University. Poetry class creating magazine of classwork

In a semester-long project by the students of a creative writing poetry class, aspiring authors are creating a magazine of their own poetry. The magazine, which will be released digitally in December, is an assignment from Professor Deborah Miller-Fox, assistant professor of English. The magazine is the first one of its kind. Adult studies LEAD program ending, 23 students undergoing teach-out process

Last school year, AU administration decided to discontinue the LEAD program, the Integrative Leadership major offered specifically for nontraditional adult students. The students currently involved in the major have been offered the opportunity to finish the program, which will officially end in May of 2018. New complementary majors immerse students in multiple fields

In recent semesters, AU has added two new complementary majors to the program list. Students can now pair almost any major with a Christian spiritual formation or music complementary major. Complementary majors are smaller than full majors but larger than minors, are completed in addition to primary majors and can augment students' main fields of study. Breaking: Sala out as football coach

After three seasons at the helm, Anderson University Head Football Coach John Sala will not be returning. Sala led the Ravens to a 4-26 record in his time on the AU sideline. Athletic Director Marcie Taylor confirmed that Sala will not be returning, but had no further comments at the time. The team learned of the move in a team meeting Monday afternoon. Luke Stafford to take on Broadway stage in “Home for the Holidays”

When Emmy-nominated producer and director Jonathan Tessero was in need of a vocalist who could also dance and play saxophone for the upcoming Broadway show “Home for the Holidays,” it was AU alumnus Luke Stafford who got the call. “This role was undoubtedly a move of God’s hand,” said Stafford, who graduated in 2017 with a degree in music business and entertainment. United Way of Madison County gears up for winter in the Anderson community

AU groups join “Operation Weatherization” in the program’s 11th year. United Way of Madison County is hosting its 11th-annual Operation Weatherization event on Saturday, Nov. 4.
