Ravens stunned in HCAC tournament
After piling up a school record 14 HCAC wins during the regular season, hopes were high that the men’s basketball team would bring a conference tournament championship trophy with them on the return trip from Hanover. In a stunning turn of events, the Ravens’ season came to an early end, losing to sixth-seeded Manchester 78-77 in the conference tournament opening round. AU track and field team races into HCAC championship
Both the men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the Depauw Invitational on Saturday, looking to bolster their chances of a strong showing in this weekend’s HCAC Indoor Championships. The men had a more than decent showing, placing fourth out of twelve teams after earning 72 points. Triumphant senior day for Raven captains
The men’s basketball team welcomed the Bluffton Beavers to O.C. Lewis Gymnasium Saturday for Senior Day, the last home game of the season. With hopes for a regular season HCAC championship still alive, the Ravens looked to send two Raven seniors off victorious, for the final time. The Indianapolis Colts have officially announced that they will no longer be partnered with Anderson University for training camp. AU had hosted the Colts for the last seven season. Basketball splits doubleheader
The Raven basketball teams split a doubleheader against Earlham on Saturday. The women dropped their tenth straight contest, losing 61-58. Kaycee Strunk poured in a career high 29 points on 8-16 shooting from the field and 10-12 shooting from the free throw line. Jireh Hart added a double-double with 15 points and 17 rebounds. Men win AU Indoor Invitational
Anderson University hosted the AU Indoor Invitational on Saturday, a seven-team event in which the Ravens track and field teams competed for the first time this season. The Raven men got off to a fast start, winning the event with 123.50 points. Garrett Cooley had a dominant afternoon, breaking the school record in the 60 Meter Dash and taking first place in the long jump. Walking into the Kardatzke Wellness Center Fieldhouse on a Wednesday night in the middle of February, one may expect to find a gym devoid of people, students scared off by the howling winds and bitter cold. Strong showing for swim team
Both the men’s and women’s swim teams placed fourth in the HCAC invitational on Saturday. The men scored 20 points, good for a fourth-place tie with Hanover, while the women accumulated 61 points, giving them sole possession of fourth. Milly Hensley had a big day for the Ravens, winning the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:02.02 and placing third in the 500 yard freestyle at 5:35.30.
